Goblinoids are a collection of humanoids with somewhat bestial qualities. The main species are the hobgoblins, who the other two groups are derived from. Generally speaking, all goblinoids are highly resistant to disease and possessed of animalistic senses.

Variants[]

Hobgoblins[]

Main Article: Hobgoblins

Hobgoblins are the original prime specimens of the goblinoid family. They are about the same size and shape as humans, with the main differences being their skin colors, which range from light brown to ruddy reds and oranges, along with their somewhat feline features. These include flat, catlike noses, feline eyes, pointed ears, black, clawlike nails, small fangs, and a thin layer of hair that covers their bodies.

Bugbears[]

Main Article: Bugbears

Bugbears are huge, hulking brutes, standing between six and eight feet tall and possessed of prodigious strength. They are covered in a thick layer of fur, possessed of pointed ears, large fangs, clawed hands, and bearlike feet. It is accepted by most scholars that bugbears are alchemically modified hobgoblins, created eons ago to serve as shock troops and manual laborers.

Goblins[]

Main Article: Goblins

Goblins are small, between three and four feet in height, with tiny little teeth and claws, along with pointed ears and feline eyes. Unlike their hobgoblin kin, they lack the thin layer of fur around their bodies, only being able to grow hair on their heads. They are believed to be the result of a degenerative disease that once swept across the hobgoblin population, causing them to become smaller, weaker, and shorter lived.

Physiology[]

While their traits vary considerably, goblinoids all share several common characteristics.

Appearance[]

While they vary widely in physical look, all goblinoids possess rather feline eyes, sharp teeth, and black, clawlike nails on their hands and feet.

Diet[]

Goblinoids are omnivorous, but prefer meat, which their highly efficient digestive systems allow them to consume even when rotten.

Abilities[]

Acute Senses: Goblinoids are possessed of refined, animalistic senses, having keen night vision, sharp sense of smell, and adjustable ears that allow them to hear great distances.

Toxin Resistance: Goblinoids are all highly resistant to disease, being able to consume rotten flesh without difficulty, and being notoriously difficult to poison.

Weaknesses[]

Goblinoids can be killed in the same manners as ordinary humanoids, such as by magic, physical damage, starvation, etc.
